No place for antisemitism

Statement of Solidarity

In a country so powerful and rich, yet we still find hate, violence, antisemitism and darkness among us.

We must stand in solidarity with the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh , PA and not allow fear to dictate how we go about our day, not allow hate and violence to stop us from practicing our religious beliefs, attending our houses of worship and being who we are.

As a police officer I see hate and violence, but as a peacemaker, when I see hate and violence I turn to my faith for support in Psalms 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

We must be strong, compassionate, loving and caring of each other, as we mourn the lives of 11 innocent people, people of faith, praying at there synagogue

We must remain vigilant for those who oppress and persecute us.

We must become guardians, just like the shepherds who watch over their flock.

We must condemn the spread of hate and violence in our world and work together to restore peace, sanctity in our sanctuaries and love in our hearts.

A powerful quote from Martin Luther King reads;

“Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

I am because you are, thank you for being you.
